To Whom It May Concern,

In the past, I have had positive experiences with the staff at Dorothy Perkins. Today I was treated very rudely by several members of staff in the Plymouth branch of Dorothy Perkins. I was in the changing rooms and unaware the store had closed as I have hearing difficulties and I seemed to be uninformed of this. I had a shirt I wanted to buy but on coming out of the changing rooms, the shop assistants that were stood around gossiping turned around to gawk at me that I was still in the shop after closing time, and asked me why I hadn’t left yet, as if I was listening in or hiding! They then said rudely that I couldn’t buy the shirt because the till had been shut down and that they may be able to hold it back for tomorrow, and that I should put the other clothes back on the rails. I particularly wanted it today because I’m busy for the next few days and then am going away.

Nobody had checked to see if I was still in there and I think this is really bad behaviour. I felt really vindicated and as if they were ganging up on me, it wasn’t my intention to make their job difficult, I didn’t even presume I would be able to have the top, but I suppose as it was after closing time they were no longer being expected to be fakely polite to me. I don’t want to go back in there again after being treated as if I was an intruder.

Sincerely,
