I often go into the Three Fishes in Worthing for a lunchtime meal and have most always been satisfied in the past.

Today however, my husband and myself went in for a lunch time drink and snack and whilst eating a man with a ladder parked it right next to our table with the intention of cleaning fittings or disco globe above, when we protested after being told ‘this was just the last one’ we still requested him to stop which with a few mutterings he did. We continued with our snack but shortly he ws back to put his ladder behind our table to carry out some further maintenance.

I requested to see the Duty Manager who came to me immediately, he asked me what he wanted him to do as he imagined the workman thought we had finished our meal. I asked the Duty Manager to come over and look and he admitted we were only half way through. He did refund the cost of our meal and a drink. Surely it is against health and safety for maintenance to be carried out using a ladder above tables where people are sitting. This area should have been cornered off.

To have to complain about any service spoils the event and going out to lunch is something we like to enjoy.

I would appreciate your comments.
