I drove into the aldi carpark [Romsey],to pick up my partner who was shopping,in aldi waited a few minutes then phoned her,she had finished and i arranged to pick her up from somewhere else, and left the carpark, got a letter the other day a £70 fine, for waiting in the carpark for 12minutes!!!.The two photos which i received showed me entering and leaving the carpark, would this fine apply if i simply turned around in the carpark!,absolutely disgusted!!!!
i have been shopping in Aldi for years but no more ,i drove in parked shopped and went home only to get a letter saying i will have to pay £70 for parking the car .
We shop at Aldi in this country and abroad, we were fans of their products and stores. Returning from holiday we shopped at our Local store Winchester and on a Saturday, because the cupboards were empty.
We have received a £70 fine notice, the parking limit is 1hour. The notice states time in carpark 1hour 0 minutes, but the legend on the pictures has a difference of +6seconds over the hour. Some question about where the car is in relation to the Aldi land as well!
Time for some common sense Aldi, we entered at a busy time, waited for a space (est 10-15mins) collected trolley and shopped without a list and it was a trolley full, queued for the checkout (est. 10mins+), paid which is time stamped and loaded our shopping, left the carpark. Time from checkout to camera was 10 mins 36second. So spending money in the store for 27mins and we spend lots of money with Aldi(£100’s per month). WE WERE RIPPED OFF £70 THIS TIME!!! I cannot anything else to call it and not a phrase I use normally.
There is not a problem with your Staff and Service Aldi, in this store, waiting is kept to a minimium. This is not of our making (customers), we shopped in a reasonable manner, as quickly as practical. Your car park is small, your store is popular, those are just the facts. We are not complaining about this, I would expect it to be even longer at xmas and other peak times. Please, please can we have some common sense, otherwise the message is you do not want our business. Ryanair tried that and surprise surprise things have changed. This carpark strategy is the making of clowns, who might suggested closing a cafe at lunchtime to save on electricity and wages. It is not practical for us and many to use this store for any weekly shop. If you have a problem with people leaving cars in the place and going elsewhere you should pick them up from the data and I am not sure you do have this type of problem here. Six second on a 1hour limit has left a very, very ‘bad taste in my mouth’ I can afford the money, can you afford the bad press when this type of thing hits the internet? – Peter
Having been asked by my wife to pop into Aldi Worcester ,i parked went into shop picked up the shopping needed and left all in 34 minutes, how do i know this because parking eye told me along with a seventy pound fine, If they are so clever with a camera why cant they film you entering the store.Thats the first time i have personally shopped at Aldi and the last, They have lost my families custom at a cost of approx 400.00 a month because they let greedy people like this manage there car parks..Wake up Aldi dont let these people spoil your good name Bryon Bond
