Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to complain about our recent experience with Delta Aviation. This was a flying activity which we booked through Intotheblue, using one of your activity gift vouchers. Our voucher number is 54833 and it was purchased in May 2006 as a birthday present for my husband, Thomas Priestley. We originally arranged the flight for July. This flight was cancelled without explanation and the telephone message we received featured a young lady telling us she was ‘very sorry’ for the cancellation, only to be followed by a second young lady in the background saying ‘you’re not really sorry though, are you?’
We rearranged the date for the next possible slot Delta had which was September 9th. On the morning of the 9th we received another telephone message telling us this flight had also been cancelled. It now seems that Delta cannot rearrange this flight until the next season which begins in April and cannot give us a date for the flight until that season has begun. We are left wondering if we have completely wasted our money on an experience for a specific birthday present which may now, if it ever happens at all, mean very little.
Our past experience with Intotheblue was a good one. Tank driving offered no such problems and had we known about the possibility of things going this wrong (my conversation today with Delta consisted of them telling me the problem could be down the age of the planes) we probably wouldn’t have booked this activity.
I understand the nature of the activity and the difficulties that can arise, but I feel the service we have received from Delta has been very bad
I would like to know where we stand now with the voucher we originally purchased from Intotheblue. I am unhappy about the prospect of the flight rolling into the next year when, I understand, the voucher will have expired. If we have the choice of either a refund or an alternative activity I would be very grateful to hear about it.
