I have absolutely no problem with young kids getting into the Halloween spirit and going trick or treating with their parents. However, the thing that really annoys me is the teenagers who make absolutely no effort to dress up and expect me to give them sweets.
This may be a mild annoyance for me but it absolutely terrifies my elderly relatives and neighbours. These young teens have no idea that they are having this effect and senior citizen’s see them as the greatest threat in their lives.
If you own some teenagers can you please try to remember not to let them out on Halloween.
Those older ones also grab big handfuls of sweets.
I agree, although as a teen I too went out ‘trick or treating’
The problem isn’t teenagers, the problem is the whole festival, while it is pagan in origin, the trick or treat side is an Americanism and really needs to be stamped out, the issue is it is becoming more and more commercialised, this year seemed to be the worst with ASDA even doing pumpkins for £1 all sizes and bunting like Christmas.
In the western world where anything has demand, than shops will sell it, the key is to make it unfashionable.. and until they do, pensioners will be scared, cats will have fireworks tied to their tails and most people will spend October 31st in darkness, too scared to turn their light on… what a world we live in!
IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FAIR TO KEEP TEENAGERS IN DURING HALOWEEN. Haloween is one day of fun for them…can’t you just deal with it?
Joe: Do you have a problem in letting them take big handfulls? Can’t you just buy more candy? What’s the big deal
Christopher Marson: Stamping out Haloween? What is it with people and not letting kids enjoy? Let them lead their innocent lives.
By the way, I actually do have some teenagers and you can BET this won’t stop me from letting them out on Haloween.
