We paid Thomson £3,600.00 for 2weeks at the above resort for a platinum suite and all other facilities assiciated with platinum.
On arrival we found that the platinum suites were not available and down graded to de-luxe room. The reason being as we have since found out that there was an awful explosion there in November 2010 destroying the platium lounge and resulting in the closure of the platinum suites, private pool etc.
These facilities were still being advertised in February 2011 when we booked our holiday.
After numerous letters Thomson have admitted that we did have what they described as a platinum de-luxe room but thats are far as it goes! What a struggle. It was my husbands 60th birthday which is the reason we pushed the boat out so to speak so that we had something special to remember. We do not have a problem with the resort just the accommodation was not what we paid for.
We did not get the room as advertised, no private pool, no private check in, no nightly turndown service, all I got for the first few days was one grumpy husband!
I feel that we have not been treated fairly with our complaint to date.
