Dear Sirs
I have on many occasions attended at the Briar Rose pub on Bennetts Hill, Birmingham.
On most occasions I have enjoyed my visit and found the food value for money. Once or twice on having a jacket potato it was cold. Anyway on the whole most palatable. The staff cheerful and friendly on the whole.
Anyway today 10.2.11 around 5:30 pm I ordered a meal with my two friends. They had wexford tarts with salad and chips. I decided to have a tuna jacket with salad.
I was very happy munching away pleased with the meal when I took a mouthful of my salad and I bit on something hard! My goodness it was very upsetting. I spit it out and at first thought it was the part off one of the tomato tops which attach the fruit to its branch. It was horrid all of a sudden it was wriggling on my plate and resembled a green wasp ugh ugh ugh! I nearly vomitted and my friends too.
I cannot say I blamed the staff they tried to be very helpful and apologised and they did say they would look into it and reimbursed my meal but it was quite horrid.
I need reassurance that this will not happen again to be honest.
Gary Bradley was very kind and said he would look into it for me. I said I would like to know what type of bug it was and how it got into my salad. He did do a bit of investigation. He said that all the salad came in sealed packs and packed in the UK (but I don’t think he was sure of the origin). He did say he would look into it further and get back to me.
Anyway hopefully they will get back to me and explain how it happened. I want to know that it wasn’t poisonous or anything like that.
My address is: 240 Monument Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B16 8UZ if you would like to get back to me.
Many thanks.
Barbara Bates (Mrs)
