To anyone who is reading this,
I would like to address the issues with factor 15 and bellow sun lotions. Why would retailers produce a factor 6 sun-cream, when you should wear at least a factor 15? Surley this is pointless?
It has been statistically proven that you are still likley to get badly burned or even skin cancer by using a low factor sun lotion. So my key question: why do people buy these sun lotions? It’s often due to false advertising: people see that it is sun lotion, yet, due to the small product font, they don’t see how low the factor is.
The reason companies make these low factors is merely due to it will cost them less to make a lower sun lotion factor-even though companies make around 50-80% profit on lotions. Which draws attention to the fact that sun cream is so expensive in the first place. ( A minimum of around £5 for 200ml.) If sun lotion was cheaper, more people would buy it and protect themselves against the risks imposed.
High factor lotions are there for a reason: don’t get cancer, use one. If you don’t, you don’t know what could happen.
By not wearing a high factor sun lotion you, yes you are at risk of:
Premature aging
Skin cancer
Bad buring and blistering to the skin. All of these will affect YOU unless you do not take action when out in the sun.
Therefore, I suggest to anyone who may be reading this to stop. Think. Before you buy sun lotion please, do take into consideration the factor you buy. You could be stopping youself and your family from getting skin cancer.
Yours sincerely,
Sharna Smith
