9/8/2010 Wellington Arms Minehead

My family and I went to the welington on sunday the 8th august for the sunday carvery!!!
It was the worst meal we have ever had in a wetherspoons!! we eat regularly at yours pubs all over the country and have always enjoyed the experience until yesterday. It was my daughter’s birthday so we went for a drive to minehead knowing we would get a good meal at a wetherspoons pub, that is we thought we would !! our grandaughter had a childrens meal which was ok. except we had to ask for activity pack it was not offered to us.
The Three adults choose the sunday carvery what a mistake that was!!!
by the time we were served there was hardly any food left and the service was very slow the operative serving was not well versed with the task of ordering the replenishment of vegetables the carrots were well past the maximum time on the banmarie counter they were very dry and shrivilled up the other veg were in the same condtion when I asked if the veg was to be replenished the answer was unclear except the cabbage was not going to be topped up the operative passed the hot cabbage container to my husband to scape the bottom of the dish to get the cabbage out ! we had to wait till the food came out of the kitchen to add to our plate the beef was very very dried up and impossible to chew. There was no gravy or apple sauce it had run out and we were left holding our plates of food until the gravy came out of the kitchen by this time the food we had manage to get was getting cold and our grandaughter was eating alone ! This is a totally unacceptable way to treat customers the member of staff was totally unable to cope he was completely out of his depth.
Also May I comment on the fact that there was not enough bar staff either
the queues very long and people were being sold carverywhen was not enough food left .
There was certainly not enough staff on duty the tables had not been cleaned between use and we were very dissappointed with whole experience. It if was not for the fact that we have been to many of your other outlets we would never eat at wetherspoons again thankfully we have eaten at the following pubs,
weston super mare, burnham birmingham, weymouth, Islington, bedford,
devon..southhampton, gatehead, taunton ,eastbourne, we always look up in your directory to find the nearest wetherspoons to our location.
Please take my comments and com[laints seriously because this visit really did let us as a family and you as a company down.
Have you considered having mystery shoppers to address such issues I have outlined.

Yours truly
